The Problem We're Solving

What is the Problem?

Food waste is a global crisis. In our country alone, tons of perfectly good food end up in landfills each year. At the same time, millions of people go to bed hungry every night. This disconnect represents one of biggest humanitarian challenges of our time.

1/3
of all food produced is wasted
$1 trillion
economic cost annually
8%
of global greenhouse emissions

Why Does This Problem Exist?

The causes of food waste are complex and occur throughout the food system. At events like weddings and celebrations, overordering is common as hosts want to ensure all guests are well-fed. Without proper systems in place to redistribute this excess food, it often ends up discarded.

Additionally, there's a disconnect between those with surplus food and those who need it. Logistical challenges in transportation, storage, and distribution create barriers that prevent excess food from reaching hungry people.

How You Can Help

Your contribution makes a real difference. By donating your leftover food from events, you're helping to:

  • Feed hungry individuals and families in our community
  • Reduce food waste and its environmental impact
  • Create a more sustainable and equitable food system
  • Set an example for others to follow
